Everything runs horizontal except one thing

 

Everything runs horizontal. Except one thing- the boat. In TIDE, the upward lines on the bow and stern cut right through the horizontal lines of the water and shore, creating a change in perspective - a subject for your eyes to lock on to. 

 

I also made a point to keep the boat in the bottom left quadrant, rather than smack dab in the middle, it creates a visual weight, but still leaves room for the eye to enjoy the blue water and blue sky.
