I'm Cherie - artist, mom of three boys, and lifelong beach lover.

I’ve always loved creating images—photography and digital art. But for years, life was driven by a long to-do list and a demanding job. Between raising my boys and working full-time as a dyslexia therapist, I rarely had time to recharge or create just for myself.

My first art business focused on photography but never took off. Years later, I explored digital abstract art—which I love because color makes my brain very happy—but something was missing. Deep down, I wanted something lighter and more joyful. After all, I’m happiest with sand between my toes and salt in the air, yet my art didn’t reflect that part of me.

Then, Everything Changed

After countless summers on the Gulf Coast and visits to beaches from Maine to Southern California, I realized what I loved most about the beach: how it strips away the weight of everyday life. No routines, no chores, no worries—just the sound of waves and the endless expanse of ocean.

When my abstract art business began to flounder, I had a panic attack—I completely spiraled, I felt incredibly discouraged and completely overwhelmed. I worried I wouldn’t be able to support myself and felt ashamed for even trying.

But that low point forced me to pause, reflect, and ask myself what truly brought me peace and happiness—and how I could truly serve a need for people. That’s when I realized: I needed to bring the calm of the beach into my life—and share it with others.

So I Took a Step

Pivoting felt overwhelming, but I found a production partner who could bring my digital art to life on beautiful, high-quality products—like canvases, tumblers, and tote bags—preserving the vibrant colors and intricate details I love. Although I’m completely self-taught (with a few photography classes and many Photoshop tutorials), I dove into coastal artwork wholeheartedly.

It Wasn’t Easy

There was plenty of doubt—wondering if I should just stick to a draining 9-5. But with the help of an amazing mentor, I found my stride and learned that joy and creativity are worth pursuing, and you don’t have to earn your happiness by sacrificing yourself.

And Then—Stride Coastal Was Born!

The first time someone told me my art brought them the feeling of a great beach memory, I knew I was on the right path. My mission became clear: to help others experience a relaxing mental stride on the beach—even when they can’t be there in person.

My Mission

Stride Coastal is about so much more than art and homewares. It’s about prioritizing relaxation, embracing your authentic self, and intentionally taking a vacation—mentally or actually—when you need it. I believe in the healing power of the ocean: the way the sound of waves, the scent of salt air, and time at the shore can restore your spirit. My hope is that each piece brings you a little of that coastal calm and helps you find moments of self-care, no matter where you are.

Thank you for being here and letting me share my love of the coast with you.
